Cant Pay Credit Card: What Happens When You Cannot Pay Credit Card Debts?

Credit cards are great for buying items when you don’t exactly have cash in hand. These plastic cards allow you to buy your items now and pay for them later on, usually at the end of the month. So plainly put, with credit cards, you don’t have to worry about money anytime, well, that is before your credit card statements arrive. Some people though, don’t exactly know what happens when you cant pay credit card debts on time although many shudder to think about it.

Basically, when you put off paying for your credit card debts for several months that is when everything begins to get nasty. Credit card companies will constantly call you and demand their money back. These collectors are very, very persistent and may call from 5 to 7 times a day.

They will try to reach your home, work and even your mobile phone as long as they can get a hold of you. In times of desperation, some collectors will even contact your family, friends, boss and other people who you’re in constant contact with. When they do get to talk with you, they’d use many psychological techniques on you to let your guard down.

They may even threaten you but always remember though, that credit card companies won’t be able to do anything to you and the most that they can do is give you a bad credit score. A bad credit score is not good because it increases your interest rates and future loans and insurances are a lot harder to get.

Consider declaring bankruptcy if you’re really hanging by a thread. Usually after 7 years though, your credit score will be clean again. There are also late fees and interest charges if ever you cant pay credit card debts on the designated date and it can get quite expensive.

To be on the safe side though, if ever you have cash on hand, it would be best to just buy stuff using cash rather than with credit cards. Not only will it be a lot easier and plain but it will nonetheless save you a lot of headaches and future interests. There are tons of help that you can find online and always keep in mind that companies cannot put you in jail, repossess your assets or even freeze your bank accounts when you cant pay credit card debts.
